Our Mission

Datafiniti’s core mission is to make data instantly accessible and available to everyone. With each step our company has taken, we have tried to identify and then remove the biggest barriers between our customers and access to the data they need. Many of the barriers we’ve removed have been technical in nature, like how to scrape billions of URLs or how to store 100 million records. One of the biggest barriers, though, has always been price.

Price Is a Barrier to Data-Driven Applications

Historically, anyone needing to consume data at scale has had to make a choice between buying data from a very expensive data vendor or building out their own data collection process. In either case, the costs can mount quickly.

Even in today’s market, where newer companies are trying to develop better approaches to delivering data, we still see offerings that don’t quite make data accessible to a larger base of users. Examples:

  • Import.io’s pricing starts at $299/month for just 5,000 URLs/month.
  • Semantics3’s pricing used to advertise $499/month for 25,000 API calls/day, but no longer display pricing on their website.

Our own pricing set a $499/month entry point for any significant amount of data access. All of these options are not great, and around the start of the year, we began suspecting that we were freezing out a large number of potential customers. We decided to dig deeper and analyzed the behavior of our entire user base for the last 6 months. We found there was a large set of users that were trialing or using Datafiniti on a regular basis but not taking full advantage of the data available. Once we saw that, we knew we had to change something to help people access our data.

A New $99 Plan to Realize Our Vision

Today, we are leaning into our mission of instantly accessible data by introducing a new version of our silver plan priced at just $99/month*.

This plan will replace the previous silver plan, and although it will come with some limitations, we believe it will open up our massive catalog of data to a much larger array of customers.

The new silver plan will give customers access to 1,000 credits/month, which will be more than enough to develop small-scale applications and prove out concepts before scaling to something larger. Silver customers will still have access to our Customer Success team.

We are incredibly excited to bring the new silver plan to the market. This is a unique offering that combines an accessible price point, a robust data catalog, and an intuitive data interface into a single solution. We eagerly await the new applications, analytics, and other products our customers will build now that web-scale data is available at a price affordable by anyone.
